Intumescent Strips

About Our Intumescent Strips

We provide a variety of intumescent strips for fire doors, both for non-domestic and domestic purposes.

While fire doors can be required in houses, they are compulsory in non-domestic settings, such as commercial buildings, hotels, and businesses.

Our intumescent strips play a vital role in combating the spread of fire, smoke, and hot gases throughout buildings. When they become exposed to heat, they will expand to seal gaps in the door, slow down the spread of fire from room to room, and protect people inside.

The strips can be fitted onto both fire doors and fire door frames, with the option for a fire seal (non-brushed) or a fire smoke seal (brushed).

All our strips are 2.1mtr in length, 4mm deep, are sold in differing widths, and are all either brown or white.

Do Fire Doors Need Intumescent Strips?

Fire doors require intumescent strips to ensure safety within the building.

While the fire door itself is key in preventing fire from spreading, without the fire door strips, it is unable to function anywhere near its full capacity, meaning that strips are essential.

It is important to research whether or not you are currently complying with fire door regulations, and check if you need to install doors. If so, you will also need intumescent strips.
